unfortunately the sound of the piano (the instrument) is not that great. Perhaps it's the recording.

Serialist piece? barber never wrote a note of serial music in his life-he was totally devoted to tonality in his compositions.

could be... but I shared my own opinion....
opinions are different... so you and many others like it. but I (maybe many others) don't like it...
-
you must not know much about composition. its a wonderful composition.. The most pleasant thing to listen to? maybe not. but great, compositionally speaking.

I liked how this interpretation emphasized each voice in the fugue. It really brought each part out and made melodic sense out of the piece. This is something that most people who play this lose. The problem with it is, like someone else mentioned, he forgot about dynamics. Not a part of it was much different from the rest. I did like it though.

I only share my own opinion >>>(see: I think)

That's quite opinionated.
You could call it bad, but then again - everyone's prospect of good and bad differs.
Some people enjoy this serialist piece.
Somebody shoot that damn bird!!

After watching this video again, I have to say that this performance is one of the finest interpretations of a 20th century piece I have ever heard. He plays with so much fury and passion. It seems like he had received horrible news about friends or family just before the performance! What incredible playing.
