Catch WHYY-TVs On Canvas, 8PM Wednesday March 24, 2010. We'll feature jazz-sax great Bobby Watson and Live & Learn! Watson was personally selected by Art Blakey in 1977 to perform with Blakeys Jazz Messengers, of which he would eventually become music director. Since then, the Kansas native has gone on to compose music for films (among them Robert DeNiros A Bronx Tale), serve as the director of jazz studies at the University of Missouri at Kansas City and perform sold-out shows around the globe.
