Guy Cunningham sets the AIX track record & wins first time out.
Darrell Anderson's newly constructed '04 GR40RT Mustang making just 500RWHP set a new track record and won its first race at Infineon Raceway on Saturday. Piloted by Guy Cunningham for its inaugural event, the #45 GR40 mount was quick out of the box. "We haven't even started development tuning of this car yet, and we did none of that this weekend" said Cunningham, who also stated he was pleased to be racing in the prestigious American Iron Extreme class of the National Auto Sport Association (NASA) series of races.
The car is the latest SN95 based GR40RT pony to come out of the Griggs Racing livery, and has been a sensation everywhere it has been shown.

Well, it is impressive but what was going on there was not all horsepower. Steering, handling and braking had more to do with the time than horsepower alone.

I love griggs racing but i can't afford your stuff, so i stick with maximum motorsports... how about a free coilover setup or a k member to seal the deal? :D

Prime example you said it yourself. Why you can't replace what you never had Aka Hp/Tq but you can always do weight reductions. V8 and higher is the way to go. you can always lose weight, enhance control, but you can't replace what you never had to work with.

Thy run multiple classes on the track at the same time even during qualifying. There were other cars on the track in the same classes they were just behind him.

In all fairness to the competition, this car seems to have about double the HP as all the other cars - look at how fast it pulls on the other cars throughout the video... Nice racecar though!

They did unfortunately. We figure with no traffic, driving the track better, and fresh tires.. a 1:39 or 1:40 is possible. We'll work on it :)
