As promised, here is the first of many clips to come documenting my time with Scott LaFaro's 1825 Prescott bass. I was granted the honor of using the bass for a week to record my tribute to Scott. Please refer to my website for more information on the recording-

My friend and great pianist Matthew Fries popped in for a little bit, so we recorded two tunes in an impromptu session. Here's the first- "The Sermon", by Hampton Hawes.

    They are Barrie Kolstein's brand of string- a braided Perlon core with a steel wrapping, which imitates a gut string. They are definitely lower in tension than a steel string.
