the academy usually likes to shock us and go against what all the other award ceremonies are doing and I would love it if the reader was named best picture.

Don't care about the others, but if Heath Ledger don't win for the best supporting actor ... I will put a smile in all the Oscar judges ....

Sean Penn "stole" the Oscar from Bill Murray 2004.
I don't what I'll do if he does the same thing to Mickey Roorke this year...
Sean Penn is nothing but a wife beater with ADHD in my opinion.
(I get alot of shit for not liking Sean Penn... I just can't stand him)
But at the same time, it wouldn't suprise me if he wins.

Yes Milk was was based on a true story but not based on a book ,best original screenplay is for the best script ,its not based on published material.
While best adapted screenplay is based usually on a novel, play, or short story.
