From new CD, available at http://cdbaby.com/tallstrom2 or http://www.tallstrom.com

TAB at http://www.tallstrom.com
This may not be that easy but hard work has never been more fun:)
Now if I could only take the gum out of my mouth when recording...
Licks similar to those used can be found at my website.
Note: This was done as a "music video" where I´m playing back to my own recording, hence the bit of sync issues before the steady tempo kicks in...
Played on a Loef guitar:

  • hey i am thinking about buying the tabs, but how hard is it to play?

  • @222022200 Well, that of course depends on a lot of things... I have played a lot of styles in my days, including both country picking, classical and 5-string banjo and I still think it´s pretty difficult :)

Anyway, it should still present a nice challenge and the piece is actually filled with a lot of pretty cool licks, if I may say so, ha ha.

    Thanks!

    Martin

  • Hi Martin, had fun learning a few of your other free pieces, and just bought this one. I think I'll have to buy a banjitar after this! Your tab is excellent - with clear left-hand fingering. Wish you the best and hope to see more from you!

  • @robnemily Thank you for the kind words and support! Best of luck

    //Martin

  • My opinion - this is the #1 fingerstyle guitar transcription ever, regardless of

musical style. You haven't added any new transcriptions to your web site in

over a year. I hope that you're OK.

  • @theandrogynousone Thanks man!

Yeah, I know, too much other stuff getting in the way... Hopefully 2012 will see a new album and new transcriptions!

    Cheers

    Martin

  • @SlashVinderslev Thanks man! The tuning is standard, that was part of the challenge :)

    Cheers

  • When Billy Redden (who is neither retarded nor inbred, just cleverly made up)played the banjo part in the movie, another banjoist actually was hidden behind him, out of camera sight, and by using clever angles, this was never revealed to the audience. Now I suspect that was also the case for the guitar part. I suspect you were playing both parts, and never scored a credit in the movie - ha! - your secret is out! Fingerpicking at its blazing finest! Outstanding fretboard skills! Tour Oz soon pls!

  • Ronnie Cox, the actor, actually played the guitar, he was and is a great picker and no one was hidden as in the case in the banjo part.
