Holiday 2009 : Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France

Holiday 2009, rode though Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, France and back to Holland in 16 days, 5350 kms in total. It was a fantasic holiday because it was the first time on a bikin' holiday with my dad. Weather was great, food was tasty, beer was lovely and the roads where just out of this world ! If you are ever in Italy you must try the 'Stelvio Pass', that was totally amazing. Also the 'Susten Pass' in Switzerland, breath taking. I was on my XJR1300SP and my dad was on a BMW R1150RT. (he didnt do bad for someone just turned 68! and still bikin'))

I found this to be truly inspirational. Did you plan your campsites in advance? Or did you just find them on the way? Was your route planned meticulosly? I was thinking of taking me and my son off on a trip like this. But in an mx5. I figure we could squeeze in enough camping gear for a week or so. Any tips welcomed. Awesome video. Thanks.

@LeighPing Hi, i had a rough idea of the route i wanted to ride and just found campsites on the way. Using a Tom-Tom GPS i could work out roughly where we would end up each day, worked really well. Sometimes we rode more than expected, sometimes less. It's good to have somewhere to aim for, Stelvio (Italy) was one of mine and i just took the rest day by day.

Nice video, well put together and good selection of music. The Swiss have it right, drink as much as you like but until you can't pronounce "Feldschlossen" to ask for another so you don't get one, ha.

I enjoyed putting it together and yes i do agree with you about the Swiss.

We couldnt even pronounce it after one can ! later in the evening we ordered 'Becks', seemed easier.

im finding it a nightmare getting info on camp sites etc and routes if you get a chance i could use all the help you can give cheers
