just a guess. lost town as in "lost" or abandonded???

Umm... okay. But just to make the point, you ask "All that way to visit a crossing?", but how would you know how far I would have to go to visit there? To me it's a lost town site, and worth visiting just for that. It's in the Pine Barrens, and I live in the Pine Barrens. And I think it's very near here.
