And yes, born and raised Minnesotan here.
Also, (I know we ALL say this) but I have no such accent. Only do when I say a select few words like "Minnesota" for example or "out" or "hockey".

I have never met anyone with the supposed accent we have! This is so funny! I wish people would stop thinking we have an accent when we don't! Soda vs pop? When has that become a thing

I moved to Minnesota from Missouri, about got my ass kicked for mentioning the accent. No one believed it existed...but my Aunt sounded exactly like this guy. But hey, everyone in Minnesota thought I had a southern accent and I thought they were crazy, too.

Alright guys, first of all, yes, we Minnesotans do have that accent, however it's stronger the further up North you go. I'm from MN and I admit I have the accent slightly. And he wasn't trying to be racist, he was showing how overly friendly some people are towards blacks. And the Catholic thing was a joke because Minnesota is primarily a Lutheran state. the phrase "fer cute" is a way of saying "how cute". And yes, it's not soda, it's POP! Lol I hope this clears up some confusion guys :)
