@CBG0829 No, unfortunately the Nikon D3000 is incapable of auto focusing this 70-300mm G lens as it lacks the necessary mechanical focusing mechanism. You can, however, focus the lens manually.

@marcelishnotgoodtv The focus ring is located at the very tip of the lens, just before the lens hood mounting grooves.

I had the older version of this lens. Had a real crappy slow focusing. How's the focusing on this one?

@gorfjorf2112112 The focus is still rather time consuming , however this is the G version of the 70-300mm. The more expensive VRII model focuses via the camera's CPU contacts as opposed to mechanical torque, resulting in a much decreased focus time.
