This was so helpful, my lord! A fellow comic book/graphic novel enthusiast of sorts, very appreciative of this info. Check out Yoshihiro Tatsumi's "Abandon the Old in Tokyo", and his other works, pretty great stuff.

I love comics too. Check out Adrian Tomine's "Optic Nerve" if you can locate a copy. The last one was so good (and so sad)! (I sent you a Twitter photo of this awhile ago; not sure if you got it.)

@KateReadsBooks Nah, mate! They don't have comic sections over here. And if they do, I have never seen one. My current uni library doesn't even have the complete works of Steinbeck, the cheapskates.

Yes to all of these. I actually saw Daniel CLowes and Craig Thompson at the Alternative Press Expo a few months back. Are you a fan of Adrian Tomine? Currently I'm not reading as many comic books as I am browsing webcomics. Great fun.

This is so great! Thanks!!! I'm reading The Years Have Pants by Eddie Campbell, so that's my recommendation. Everyone in the world has his or her own comic now. It seems I can't put a link here, but you could search Pedestrian Comics to see mine. I know you don't have time to read the 7 billion comics of each individual earthling, but I'm begging you to read this one.
