Richardson certainly was pandering & wouldn't be caught dead with that look in D.C.......When In Rome....so on that note, Richardson played the part..
The reason he lost however is due to his Liberal position on Illegal Immigration. His own constituents, most notably Hispanics who have migrated here the Legal way are dead against granting Amnesty to those who refuse to do it properly and assimilate into our culture & history.
