Ryko Filmworks will release George T. Nierenberg's critically acclaimed documentary film about American gospel music, Say Amen, Somebody. The 25th Anniversary deluxe edition features the glorious film in its entirety along with newly-recorded director's commentary, photo essay and theatrical trailer, deluxe hymn-book packaging, a special booklet featuring essays, lyrics and rare photos and a 15-song companion audio CD of the original live soundtrack. The CD will also be available for purchase separately. Both are set for release January 30, 2007.

@87Asafo OMG! LOL!!! I am scared to tell you then, that for Ms. Delois 85th birthday this past March I had the opportunity of spending time with her and Ms. Billie at her house, and she signed my book as well. They are wonderful women. I thank God that I had the chance to know them on a personal level. I miss talking to Ms. Delois on the phone. She was awesome. I consider it a blessing from God.

Delois Barrett Campbell, one of the Barrett sisters, died today. It's good this documentary was made before all these people are gone

I could watc this over and over. Most in the documentary have gone to heaven, but live forever in our hearts.

This is a classic documentary. I have the collectors edition on DVD with a book, and had the pleasure of Mrs. Billie Barrett Greenbey, from Barrett Sisters autographing my book in March At Mrs. Delois 84th Birthday celebration. Say Amen Somebody is a must have....

The song you asked about in video is Highway To Heaven. The late O'Neal Twins are the ones on singing on the mike. Don't know who the choir is.
