Just be patient. Duck under them, then walk forward when their lasers are shooting straight (don't track backwards either, or they will respawn). In the smaller part of the corridor, wait for them to come on the screen (while ducking), and they will move to the right off of the screen. When they move off of the screen, they disappear.

The levels are difficult, but too bad that Shredder is a pathetic pushover.
As for April O'Neill, all she does is get captured while watching the turtles do all the hard work and all she gives them is her "support?" I think I have to agree with you on your choice comment about her. LOL
