See what POST has achieved so far, as of the October 2010 finale of the international Census of Marine Life.

The Pacific Ocean Shelf Tracking (POST) Project has been an important contributor to the decade-long Census of Marine Life, as one of their 17 projects. POST has brought new information and discoveries about the distribution, movement and survival of over 16,000 individual animals representing 18 different species, on the continental shelf in the Northeast Pacific Ocean.

POST's mission is to further understanding of the behaviour of marine animals through the operation of a large-scale ocean telemetry and data management system. POST serves as an accessible research tool for academe, resource agencies and the public. Long-term monitoring of marine animals will contribute to the conservation and stewardship of marine resources.
