My thunderbird 2.3 turbo doing a 0-60.

All stock except a 3 inch downpipe.
Looks like it take 7.5 sec.

  • Where did you find one for $500? Around here, you can't touch a manual version (more common) for less than $3K, or an auto for less than $5K.

  • @FTORC1 I live in quebec canada and people here dont have a clue what kind of car it is. When i got it 6 years ago it was in very bad shape, all brakes were shot, the cam was worn (i have a n/a cam on it since), the transmission was almost dead, the rack and the gas tank was leaking bad, but the rest of the engine and the turbo was in very good shape, so i got it for only 500$. At first i was looking for parts for the mustang but decided to save it instead after the road test.

  • @wootness3000 Youre right on one thing, i am an idiot, i have no clue how to speed up a video.

Second, my car is not a 1000$, it is a 500$ car.

Third the song you hear is from my cd player in the car, and it sounds normal to me.

Finally: quit warcraft, get a good job, date a girl, have kids and TRY the best you can to be less stupid.

I'll specify one more time for thoses KIDS who CAN'T read, this videos is descriptive of a average, not fast, over 300 000km thunderbird turbo coupe can do.

  • @wesfrazee Visit TURBOFORD and NATO, the solution i there.

  • @Greenstang02 "Finally: quit warcraft, get a good job, date a girl, have kids and TRY the best you can to be less stupid" that isnt going to happen lol. this would be doing good for a $100 car let alone a $500 car. with 300k IN canada, where they seem to rot to nothing after time. this is pretty damned good

  • @Greenstang02 Yeah dude thanks, I want to refilm it with my other camera so I can have some better sound and vid quality.

  • @him89 It make sense alot. I took care to specify in the title that it is a 0-60. I left the throttle just after 110 km/h wich is roughly just over 60 mph. I should have do it like you and put a chrono like your cougar video but still some will not get a clue. Really nice engine sound by the way and a 7.7 sec is really good for such a big car :)

  • @Greenstang02 I think that kid thinks your speedo reads mph rather than kph. about the only explanation I have for his jackassary

  • @roydied15 The auto was an optional transmission. They released the auto option, after production had already began. Something about some more feminine types, didn't know how to drive standard and wanted to go fast. All the other submodels came standard with an auto, whereas the turbo came standard with a manual. It cost Ford more money to make the auto version, hence it was a more expensive option. For every 1 that was auto, there are roughly 50 that are manual. It was a $4k option.

  • @FTORC1 why would someone pay more for the auto? they made 50hp less!

  • @FTORC1 I had a 88 Turbo Coupe. You are right, with a little work they made good power. Plus they handle great and for the late 80s were pretty damn luxurious...with leather more like a Lincoln than a Ford.

  • @Greenstang02 I loved mine. I had 1 with an auto. That one was my baby. I ended up selling it to some kid in Wisconsin. Ran into financial trouble. He got a real screamer. These cars were no joke. They were very fast, drove like they were on rails, and ahead of their time. Some people find it hard to believe it's only a 4 cyl in a nearly 5,000 pound car. They were very heavy. So many people couldn't figure out what mine was. They don't look like a Thunderbird.
