He didn't die instantly. If you look closely at the picture of him on the stretcher, he has an airbag strapped to his mouth and one of the attendants is squeezing it. He was brain dead but they kept his heart beating and him breathing so the family could say goodbye.

@altern8ive Actually the grass slowed it down much quicker than asphalt would have. The throttle was hung

firstly rip Dan. secondly this could've been less of a major shunt if the turf in the infield was asphalt, the car wouldn't have dug in and rolled, instead the friction of what wheels were left attached would've decelerated the car more. so get rid of the turf!!!

i was gonna make fun of dude too, but then i actually searched for what he said he was lookin for, and its all over the place... apparently he searching for other nascar drivers... and since this dude died recently everyone's talking about it.
Anyway i told him to use the -keyword during search so that it searches for things without dan.

no, but you can search for things without a certain keyword. For example, just try searching for Sebastien Boudais -"dan weldon" (including the minus and the quotes around dan weldon). It should find all video results with sebastien but without dan.
