At Techno-Frontier 2008, Canon Marketing displayed their new Digital Galvano Scanner which is more has more accurate positioning and control of temperature and power due to the use of the built in digital encoder.


Previous systems used an analog encoder which had very little to almost no control over the flux in temperature or power of the machine but the diffraction interference system of the encoder and the digital sub-controller reduces power and temperature drift thus allowing for more control of the laser.

The digital encoder also provides for a very stable laser beam which can repeat and maintain the same position.

The Digital Galvano Scanner is intended for use as a laser welder, cutting, marking, finishing or scribing machine as well as a three dimensional measuring system.
