@krissy12121 Of course the pledging and giving of your money isn't REQUIRED, but strongly encouraged and pressured...I was there before the whale and extension too, so I see how much more its become commercialized recently. If you actually looked at what the church spends on its organizations, little is on charities or people who need it. Shandon is a FOR-PROFIT church, they make money..a lot of it...you could probably fund all the mission trips for a year on one Sunday pledge-drive

@amstang864 ive been going to this church my whole life and yeah, they do have pledging and stuff but its not like its required, i went to that church before the whale statue and the extensions, so thats not only why people go. and the money doesnt just go to the church, it goes to many different organizations, and to people who want to go serve God on missions trips, but dont have the money to. The church supports them through money and prayer, and why does it matter how much he makes?

@krissy12121 Think about how this church hammers tithing...they even have special pledge fundraisers on top of that where they get all members for AS MUCH as they can. Do you know how much money goes into this church? Or how much it cost to build that extension on the church? Or even that whale statue? Its like disneyland, looks, reputation and appeal are what gets people to go to that church and then they get as much money as they can out of them. Do you know how much Dick earns a year??
