Paper Mario (lvl 1): Huff N Puff

The twelfth video of a Paper Mario level 1 no items playthrough. Mario fights Huff N Puff.

Although Mario is allowed to level up, all level up bonuses go to BP, yet only the level 1 amount of 3BP is allowed to be used. As such, Mario is still essentially "level 1." We also take the added restriction of no items and no leveling up partners..

Before this fight, Mario upgraded his jump by getting the Ultra Boots. Winning should still be possible without having upgraded.

This fight you can't really do without planning every turn, both yours and Huff N Puff's. Not like a tool-assisted thing, though, because so long as you do just as what was done in the video here, you should always end up victorious, since Huff N Puff will only follow a pattern, which is generally the case for bosses in this game. So that's what was done here.

Paper Mario's a bit different from other RPGs. You can go on ahead and level up, and just put your level up points into badge points, and then just not use those extra badge points that you get. It'll be exactly the same thing. tujudi737 just decided to just prevent leveling up altogether, for whatever reason, but it's all the same.

That charge and defend strategy comes in real handy. I beat Bonetail in TTYD by only charging and I had Koops as my partner. I used multibounce and and I did 400 damage. even though he has 200.

@colten5330 Uh, is Level 1 No Items No Healing even possible?! I've completed a Level 7 No Items run before, but I needed to spam a lot of healing to do it. (Fortunately, with badges you can block all of Final Bowser's attacks, except his lightning, for 0 damage once you're in Danger.)

@MrTurtle1239 Haha chill. The attack does 3 damage, but he only took 1 damage because of the Last Stand badge. That badge reduces damage by 1/2, rounded down, when Mario has 5 or less HP. So 3 divided by 2 is 1.5, rounded down is 1. There you go.
