dear you tube viewers: what you have or will hear is one song of MANY by one of the most important groups of your life. trust me, STEPPENWOLF is a band that will not receive it's recognition until we are no longer able to listen. to not include JOHN KAY as one of the most important somgwriters andd musicians of our generation is a slight that can never be rectivied.as part of the wolfpack; WE KNOW. THANK YOU FOR YOUR INDULGENCE.
Al igual que morning blue, este es un fantástico tema, lleno de sensibilidad, dos de los mejores temas de la década de los setenta. John Kay es el mas grande.
One of my favorite Wolf songs.74 was a great year for me. I had not heard or thought of the song for 32 years. Last night I just started singing it for no apparent reason. I had to find it.Not quite the same with the backup singers. If I can find the original, I will post it . Thanks so much for posting this.
" Yes I'd like to leave the city, but I can't afford to move, and I think I'm goin' under with those mean old lowdown Smoky Factory Blues", one of the best tunes of the 70's that most people never heard, from The Steppenwolf L.P. "Reborn To Be Wild"! Albert Hammond had a good decade in the 70's, what with this and The Hollies version of his "The Air That I Breathe" two seminal classics! t Thanks Y T 4 the space, blc2cf4prst 4 the upload, and of course the genius that is John Kay! ROS!
Listen to Albert Hammond's (great) original, then listen to John Kay's. Gotta give it to JK for taking this awesome song to another level! This one - with the backup singers - is my favorite. I've been listening to the Slow Flux version for ages, but this one is the one I've been waiting since the '70s to hear again. Where can I buy it?
you have good taste my friend!!..there are a dozen hidden treasures like this one hidden throughout their albums. john kay is one of thee great rock singers and songwriters of all time. life is so short, john; give goldy a ring.
John was one of the most prolific writers of our time, or any time! Had the pleasure of meeting him at a NAMM show in early 90's. Got his autograph on his Rickenbacher poster. Highly treasured! Still have this album safely tucked away. Always been one of my very favorite Steppenwolf tunes!
