It is really sad, like the death of a Grandmother, My family grew up on the river, we even swam in the rain. The river is NOthing like it used to be you are right. the water doesn't even flow in the same path as it used to and rocks that we used to jump on were 90% submerged int he summer are now only 30% submerged. THIS IS NO DOUBT EVIDENCE OF CLIMATE CHANGE. The park used to be free but the county started charging people for day visits around 10 years ago.
moonshine changed about 4 years ago swim holes are still good but its all paved now the field is all campsites nothing like it used 2 be i grew up on ojalla rd
This is where I grew up, swam there every summer as a child, lived right next to Twin Bridges (about 4 miles down river). Sad to see that climate change as altered the river so much and the summer flow is lower than ever, and has even change the major corse of where it splits right at Moonshine Park. This is actually Logsden, OR on the Siletz River and The town of Siletz is about 8 miles down river. It is all with in the original land of the Siletz Indian Reservation.
are there smallmouth in the siletz river?
