Did you even read the text of proposal 2 before you mindlessly voted against it? All it does is allow embryos that were created for in vitro fertilization but that can not be used for it and as such would otherwise be destroyed can be donated for use in stem cell research. Embryos cannot be created for research. Embryos cannot be bought or sold for research. Embryos cannot be used for research unless they would be thrown in the garbage anyway. How does that "Go too far"?

Opponents of Proposition 2 argue that destruction of stored embryos is morally unacceptable, but they offer no alternatives on what to do with them. It is a practical limitation that frozen embryos cannot be stored forever. If a stored embryo will ultimately be discarded, isn't that destruction too? The potential embryonic stem cell research offers so much hope, so much potential for new medical cures. Cells that are not destined to become a human life can be used to save them.
