  • WOW Very nice work!!!

how did you make the sandstorm at 2:20 ?

    thats very amazing!!!

  • @The3DFreak3D Thanks. The sandstorm is mist that has a global texture applied to it. That texture's offset is then animated to move.

  • Looks like you worked really hard on the modeling, sweet lens flares & particles, but I wish I could have seen more detail that was hidden in the hard black shadows.

Some fill lights or ambient occlusion could have brought those out a bit.

Seeing this clip is 2 years old, you've probably way surpassed me in skill level!

    Really cool overall!

  • @khentoumi You're right. Only those years ambient occlusion was way out of my processing capability. I rendered in about 250f pieces wich took 10-20 hours each :). Also those models have no UI texturing at all, that could have added some nice detail pretty easily. Now I'd have the performance but very little time to do these things anymore. Damn... And also I'm struggling to get used to the new UI, Some very hard dying habit with the spacebar for example...

  • Can you give me any tip on how to model a ship? spaceship.

And by the way... how did you get that text in this movie/trailer?

  • Thanks man, for the text Blender has a tool called "text". (Add -> Text) The text can be transformed to a mesh and edited freely, but things like the extruding can be done straight out with the text toolbar also.

  • @Pgz0 Elementary my dear Watson :)...GG dude :)

  • great job

  • @ReynoldAckerson Anything you can do with the numpad can be done via the menus. I'm running Blender on my laptop right now and I don't have a numpad, so I have to use the menus. You can look them up in the shortcut help.

  • Amazing work, looks like you worked really hard on this!

  • Hey, I'm having trouble running blender without a numpad, and before you say buy one, I did. It turns out my computer isn't compatible with one, any suggestions from the master please? :P

  • can ask for the project file?.
