they should totally do Mario Party 2 next, they can even get it for the Virtual Console if no one has the N64 cart, or invite me, cause i have my Mario Party 2 with a completed save file =P.

Surprisingly, the final minigame mattered. If chuggaa hadn't won that minigame, peach would've won. As you can see, the totals for peach and Chuggaa were:
Chuggaa: 4 stars, 24 coins.
Peach: 4 stars, 17 coins.
However, if Chuggaa didn't win that minigame, it would've been:
Chuggaa: 4 stars, 14 coins.
Peach: 4 stars, 17 coins.
So it did matter, just not in the way everyone thought.
