A Dutch Shepherd: an example of a breed that is very obedient, incredibly intelligent and playful. I will never get another breed.

  • Are they high strung like Malinois?

  • I have never seen a malinois but the dutch shepherd is a distant cross between the malinois and german shepherd. This dog definitely has much energy and will follow me all around the house and the yard without a leash or collar. It loves to play and will run itself to exhausion while playing frisbee or ball. She is a great dog, very obedient, loving and is great with our small child. Definitely needs much exercise.

  • Hey, congratulations man, you get a fabolous dog. Very obedient, clever, etc. You are doing an excellent work. I have a Dutch Sheperd too.

  • @AKlover If you haven't found your answer yet...the dutch and mali are almost the same just different markings.

  • tht was one hell of a jump! lol

  • soundgarden in the background

  • Just got a dutchie great dog

  • Hey there,,,I have a 12 yr. old female, who is just now starting to slow down,,,though her mind is still sharper than mine,,,lol. They are so intelligent,,,if they had thumbs, they would be better drivers than most of the people on the road today. I had never heard of, nor seen one before my Ilze, but am so completely impressed with the breed. I'm hoping to find another, just as wonderful.

  • lovely

  • Awesome to see her intelligence potential being nurtured! So many ill dog experienced folk will purchase a dutch shep for the wrong reasons... eventually hindering the dog 'unhandleable'. I have huge admiration for the breed as well as Belgian Shepherds, one day when a spot comes up in my household, I'd like to fill it with one of the two breeds, or a hybrid of both.
