Rocky was a really tough fighter on the inside, it's not a place you wanted to stay and fight it out with him. Even Chavez elected to box for long portions of his fight against Lockridge rather than pound it out.

Serves Mayweather right, by the way, for being a cocky, disrespectful asshole coming into this fight. Some guys gotta learn the hard way that you NEVER look past an opponent and you keep your mind focused on the fight at all times.
