New year, same old schtick - more beer and blather about it. This week: after a long afternoon in the garden, a glass of Stone Old Guardian and a couple of bits of cheese on toast are my reward

  • I have a bottle of this sitting in my fridge at the moment. I'm enjoying a Smuttynose Wheat Wine Ale until later when a friend arrives so we can share the Stone.

Now I can't wait until later.

  • @spookerd haha, you'd do well to wait - that's a lot of alcohol right there, especially after a bottle of wheat wine.

  • agggghhh, how is it you get Stone in the U.K., thousands of miles from the brewery and i cant even find it in midwest america ?! great review though, you're one of the best on youtube. keep up the good work.

  • @frostybob123 just lucky I guess! We have a great importer who brings in a lot of stuff from the US - we have Oskar Blues and Green Flash arriving in a couple of months

  • word up

    i love stone

  • Yeah I think it's underrated and I look forward to it every year. Mirror Mirror is pretty good, but costs too much. And Bigfoot is way overrated!

  • If you like that one, you should give Deschutes Mirror Mirror from Bend, Oregon a try. Wonderful, rich example of an old world Barleywine with just a touch of oak. Really quite good.

  • Stone's Old Guardian 2010 is my favorite barleywine. It's very balanced and not to sweet, it has a nice hop and barley flavor to it. Great reviews!

  • Your videos always make me so thirsty, I love Old Guardian But can never keep it around to long.
