how do you managed her to dig near the glass? it seams that there is a lot of space where she could place her nest the way not to let the light in.

Would you recommend keeping Messor Barbarus in sand over a test tube? And did you heat this farm?

If that is a standard black and that enjoys rotten food and sugar, Put a small pile of sugar in there every once in a while, for black ants, AKA sugar ants feed sugar to their queens for the queen to repopulate
