I think imma do this to mine. It's perfect cause you still have all your trunk space
-
Yes and how much weight does that actual add?
Its a small 8" shallow mount sub, it might add weight, but not a noticeable amount.
-
@atami210 you obviously dont drive a BMW coupe. the stock sub woofer in there weights a third of the weight of after market subwoofers. just by adding this he is trippling the weight of the original sub.
I just spent 8 hrs today doing this shit..
-
Doesnt add any weight. hes taking out the original subs and just replacing them.
And you cant mod an M3 engine wise without major work. Most you can do is exhaust and intake..
-
@jimjam438 naaa is you like music subs are a cheap mod. id always have one
-
Those are sws 8xi from earthquake. They don't weigh anymore than the stocks, they just replace the factory subwoofer
-
thats a 8" Earthquake which fits all BMW's. You would need a amp to power these babys and prem. sound for bmw would need a converter more than likely in order to not burn out the prem system amp.
-
What are you powering this with and what model sub is it? Does it fit right in and do the factory grills still work?
Thanks!
-
Well it looks like a nice sound upgrade :) What amp are you using? Did you modified the subwoofer box?
-
Dude that's awesome. I was thinking about getting the hardtop 328i convertible and I *think* it comes with subs under the seat. So i just wanted to confirm you ripped out both stock subs and put in better ones? Also where did you put the amp? Can you film a video that shows your car too and then the door opening to show the subs? It's pretty sweet. I bet you get good bass with those under your seat

Wrong way to mod an M3 ;)
The point is to take as much weight as you can out of the car not put more back in

Maybe you didn't know but this mod doesn't add any weight...
