yes, shirley has confirmed that this song is about courtney love. the two women have a great deal of respect for one another and both have been very vocal about this. at the peak of her fame courtney love went so far as to say shirley manson is the best woman in rock and that she doesn't even have to try.

in return shirley has said that she admires courtney above all, and she was also very supportive after cobains suicide (shirley said he 'took the easy way out').
