A very simple setup with very simple code to produce random flickering effects on 2 x yellow and 1 x red LED's. This gives a very realistic fire/flicker flame effect diffused and reflected off a reflective surface.

The effect doesn't show up very well in the video. If you give it a try yourself you will see how effective it is.

PM me if you want the code. Check out my website and blog - www.earthshinedesign.co.uk

p.s. If anyone can explain why so many people in Poland have viewed this video I would be grateful. Thanks.

  • I was throwing out some junk mail and the url to this video was printed on a flyer so I came here to see what it was about.

  • @zooto68 it shows up as the first link recommended on my youtube home page (in Montreal).

  • @zooto68 Well, you're in trouble now mate. Was using the lavatory in Ukraine and there scribbled on the wall was this link, which took me to this link.

  • I googled: flicker LED

  • @zooto68 It was recommended to me because I watched "microwave plasma gone wrong"

  • awesome job man :D

  • I searched for flame flicked LEDs lol I was looking for a supplier and found youtube.... YAY GOOGLE :P

  • @zooto68 I, for one, watched this video for it turned up when I searched "flash 8 flickering flame effect" in Google, nothing to do with what i searched but Google is based on key words "flickering" and "flame" and tada you've got views!

  • I can only say why I visited the site - we have a gas "real effect" fire which is too warm but we like the warm glow. I looked at this to see whether this would fit beneath the logs to replicate a real fire. Thanks

  • Hi!

You can check where the views are coming from by clicking on the 'Insight' button in the Video Owner Options section. It is located under the video description.
