Beth (Original)

At one point I was serenading tables in a restaurant. A father and daughter were dining and the father asked if I knew a song for a girl named "Beth." (This was before the hit song.) I didn't, so I went home and wrote one. She was overjoyed the next evening when I sang it to her, and I got a nice tip. She ended up in the same college as me and went to every concert I did to hear it :)
