Both of those two crossings didn't have rail gates until like 10 years ago. I used to ride my bike accross that track bridge along time ago. Amtrak still rollin' that track daily. It's an CSX/ Marquette Rail line.
Although It would have fun (and a nice historical accent) if you'd have added some anecdotes such as on (:41 ) to note that one is looking at the South end of the wye extension of the very first railroad into GR (D& M, 1858) which required trains having to back up several miles on this very track in order to reach the North end of the city where a GT depot was located (until 1960) for the occasion...
