Back in Hazard's office, Dr. Hazard sees signs that Trickler's fantasies may be bleeding into reality. Dr. and patient go on hypnotic voyages to terrorize their new neighbor Joan.
Much of this video was shot in Kansas on 8mm and 16mm film transferred to video. The rest was shot at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago's black sound stage. I used rear-screen projection to create windows/doors that flooded backlights into the black box space. Then I added a key and fill light and maybe one practical light. So the scenes in Dr. Hazard's office, for example were all done this way. In these early digital days, I had to work all night editing and then I had to capture my work for the night back onto Hi8 tape, because there was no cost effective way of backing up files (Zip discs were about the limit: 100 MB files only!) I did all the makeup myself too. So I wrote, shot, starred in, lit, sound recorded, edited, financed the whole thing. Also keep in mind I did this a year before the low budget BLAIR WITCH made it big. Oh well. Maybe someday someone will discover my genius! -V
