I was born and raised in Stockton and you can hear those horns blowing all night long. Sometimes I think those engineers do it on purpose just to wake people up!

Railroad crossings are always the best places to watch trains. They always blow their horns at crossings, making for really cool videos!

@rtzook: That was probably the UP 5484 (the manifest that followed the ACE) blowing the horn for a crossing further north.

can anyone tell me is BNSF actually runs through Sacramento now?

Yes, through Haggin, on UP's Sacramento Sub on trackage rights. That's how BNSF send trains to/from Gateway Sub north of Feather River Canyon.
