Could it be that the phone reads the barcode and translates english into japanese?

That graphic is called "QR Code". It's like a barcode but stores tonnes of extra info. You can get software (usually free) for your cellphone that lets you take a photo of the QR Code. You can also find free softwares or sites to create QR Code. The camera ecords the picture and the software translates that to information. Alot of people have put thier resume in a QR Code graph and then posted it on thier site. I have my resume on the back of my business card.

its really futuristic..haha...or i am just s.o. who is kind of left behind by the civilisation.. :P ...however...that seems kinda cool..and pretty useful..^^

sorry i mean they can't, and for some people info, this is not just service dependent, it is also phone dependent, you need your phone to have this feature ready to be able to use this feature.
ALSO can any one tell me if i am correct that: DOCOMO =>dokomo => anywhere in japanese?
