The Conference held at the Javits Center on the eve of the NY Anime Festival.
Anime and manga are a multi-billion dollar business in the U.S., with television programming on over a dozen networks; one of the fastest-growing parts of the book business; best-selling DVDs, top-selling tabletop and video games, toys, apparel and other licensed products all driven by the otaku (fans) that lead pop culture and technology adoption curves.

Understanding the "otaku generation," the powerful group of young consumers that are driving this phenomenon across multiple categories, can help anyone that wants to reach this audience and ride the wave of Japanese and Japanese-influenced content that's sweeping the globe.

  • @Tlz444 what did Al Kahn lie about exactly?

  • @presidentevil I don't particularly care if you go to conventions or not. The point is, saying Funimation sucks just because you don't like the shows they choose to dub (Kinda weird, considering their pretty decently sized library of titles, but okay). If you, say, didn't like a particular voice actor or dub for a certain verifiable reason, that's another story. But saying they "don't play anime I like"? Seems like it's more a problem with the shows, not the company.

  • @shinobi67 How can I!? Those dubbed version arent available on DVD or any home video media type.

And Yes, I do go 2 conventions.

  • @presidentevil So just because they don't play anime you like, they suck? Uh... I'm not really even sure how to respond to this. "What the hell!" comes to mind. If you like Animax, that's fine. Go watch what they produce. Please, don't feel the need to waste your time insulting Funimation, especially since you most likely won't get any converts.

  • @mic456789 Fagnimation sucks ass! They don't play anime I like. Animax rules! They played an uncut english dub of card captor sakura!!!!!

    YAY ANIMAX!

  • We heart FUNimation!!!

  • @knuckles8886 HE REALLY SAID THAT?

  • Yeah, I bet he gets grossed out when he sees cleavage in person!!

  • Well are they talking about animation in general or animation for kids? Because what you mentioned (Fruits Baskets) isn't for kids and I think they are talking about the young demographic.

  • How about watch some fansubs online. That's what I'd do.
