This is not sound doctrine man is powerless flesh which must sin. But man is not completely evil. Man still retains a broken image of God. This is what makes men religious.Vodie is confusing man innately with flesh. The flesh is totally incapable of pleasing God but all men are born with the light of God. John 1;9 Not the light of salvation but of a retained Image of God. Man can do good but is not good.He is powerless but not the opposite of good.Depravity is flesh incapable of Spirit life

@rmlrobl You made man Satan with no image of God. It is bad doctrine not understanding man's goodness is the most difficult part to wittness. Man has image of God reflects it .Wttnessing that way will never undermine man's goodness. You keep sayimg God ' s image in man is dead and he is Satan. It is not that man is good equal to good it is man has good you keep missing what I'm saying. If you call man evil you call God;s image evil.

@polopowers1 The gift is good, not the person. You MUST look at man thru the lens of God. In order for a thing to be GOOD, it must be fully good. Take (poor ex) ice cream= A 5/6 gallon of vanilla with 1/6 chocolate..it is NOT vanilla ice cream.

Only God is/was/will ever be...good. Man is evil, as the Scripture says. can a work be good? Yes, but is still as filthy rags, bc the good work was done by an evil person. So if I missed your point about works being good, on the surface, they can be..

@rmlrobl Man is created in the image of God he is not Satan Man is not equal to Satan in virtue Remember your first statement man is completely evil, this is not Biblical depravity. It is man powerless in flesh bent on sin, not having Spirit life. To say kindess is not good is changing the definition of virtue.All good is total depravity because it is done by flesh.God gave man attrinute of good knowledge. Man is not completly absent of God's image Man cannot be repaired. He is given new nature.

We are not talking about being being completely evil but whether man was left with good and obviously Noah was a righteous man capable of good.The seed of good and evil is still in man's heart today. Man can do good but it is not righteousnessD

@rmlrobl  Sinful nature is physical powerless flesh to sin, transmitted in the blood. Adam never fell spiritually he never had a spiritual life. He knew God, Satan physically etc..Are you saying Adam did no good after he fell.?, Man was corruptible they needed to be born by Spirit .Ate good = evil? don't know what you mean? I said Adam was not complete evil by nature but powerless flesh by nature to know God But flesh can do good You said all men do is always evil,Depravity is powerless flesh..

Genesis 6:5: And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Genesis 8:21: And the LORD s..... for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth;

Ate good=be totally evil? HUH? Once Adam ate the forbidden fruit, he KNEW Good & evil. His physical flesh was not what became evil, it was him inherent nature. Right after the consumption of the fruit of the forbidden tree, Adam lied, blamed, etc. From the children of Adam on...it is not the physical flesh, it is the sin nature, if a man dies apart from Christ, the soul does not become good, or everyone would make heaven.

The heart is evil, the tongue is evil, ....

@rmlrobl People do good does mean it is God's righteousness, even the world can be admonished to do good. Your confusing good being righteousness it is not. But man does good. Adam ate equally good and evil, hence religion is the result. And good works of man also to keep the world going, Firemen do good, soldiers do good. etc
