While on my way into South Station to see Amtrak's 40th Anniversary train i saw these work trains near Readville Station and Hyde Park Station. In the old Readville yard there were two amtrak locomotives attached to an empty tie train with several other orange work train cars on the other tracks. Near forest hills i also saw about 30 green and yellow track work vehicles, but i did not get a any footage of them.
The first one is the Shoulder Cleaner on the Enprotec siding. The distant equipment (in 5 yard) is the Advance Tie Removal Gangs Vactrain and tie handlers with a couple of Amtrak GP-38s in the background.
