Edward Murrow Documentary - National History Fair Finalist

About this video:
In 2006 high school students Chris Knific, Emma Yudelman, Sonja Bree, Liz Chadha and Allison Gutstein submitted their tribute to Edward R Murrow to the National History Fair competition. As a team they made it to the national level, far exceeding Canterbury School's (Fort Myers, FL) expectations.

  • Glad to see you didn't include Canada on the list of allies for WW 2- not like we did anything. I mean we were one of the first countries to join the war that's all. Poland did far more then we did, even after they were conquered. Oh and China- wow they played such a crucial part in the war!

I stopped watching your report after this part.. wasn't worth my time, just like it wasn't worth your time to properly research who the main allies were in WW 2. give props when props is due sugar.

  • This was a project done by 15 and 16 year old students for the national history fair competition. You might be right, but the focus is on Murrow.

BTW. we put this together in a week while applying for college and staying up until 3am every night making up the homework we missed.

  • Fantastic documentary!! It is a shame that more videos like this aren't as prominent on Youtube and other sites, rather than the millions of soulja boy spin-offs. Murrow saw it coming

  • That was FANTASTIC. THANK YOU.

  • What program did you guys use to make this?

  • At the start of speaking about World War I, you showed the blowing up of the USS Arizona at Pearl Harbor. WRONG!!!

  • Ok, I have to do the National History Competion, and this was a really good video. Especially since it was done in a week! I've been researching my topic for two months and my documentary would have turned out terrible if i made it in a week.

But you have talent! This is amazing.

  • No mention of the parition of Europe, the Iron curtain, divided Germany, Mao? Why do you think people were frightened in the first place??? If you only look at our modern international institutions you will see with ease the major allies of WWII...look no further than the UN security Council for your answer. When teachers allow this type of mis-information to pass as fact or as even resonable is sad, it is a disservice to all involved and patting kids on the back is no education at all!

  • To omit the Soviet Union from the allied powers is ridiculous and intellectually inexcusable, esp.considering that they, by FAR, lost the most people (20-25 million) and suffered grossly at the hands of Fascism. Someone commented that China did little in the war, China was fighting Japan nearly a decade before Britain entered the hostilities...and the Chinese suffered massive losses (Rape of Nanjing) as well, including the partition of their nation, see: Manchukuo.

  • What a pile of garbage.

  • @upatlast Canada was a dominion within the British Commonwealth during WW2 ...Canada was technically not a legally autonomous country at that time .....not until signing of the Canada Act in1982. She also didn't mention Australia, New Zealand & india as they too were within the commonwealth.
