  • Nadia didn't have a stellar voice, but her tone is awesome, and this is a very sexy performance.

  • I think its a little of both

  • Umm...it's not a "wonderful song about love", it's a horrifying song about a woman trying to rationalize and justify staying in an abusive relationship.

  • I Love This Song and Im related to Charles Dickens The Guy who wrote the book Oliver Twist which the oliver musical is based on :) ♪

  • omg i am nancy in my school performance and i did the full song and the right way, she doesnt hold on to the note, u want to see me doing it cheek on my chanel after the preformance on tuesday the 14th

  • "As long as he NEED me"

    Hmm...

I liked the performance, diction problems and all. I enjoyed her performances generally, and I thought she'd last a little bit longer.

I saw the Melinda Doolittle song for the first time too and her vocals are much better. I don't think she has Nadia's stage presence though.

  • I'd definitely recommend watching Oliver, then- I'm doing it as my school play right now, and taken out of context, the song can be really misconstrued. the character of Nancy is really layered, as is her relationship with Bill. he's incredibly powerful and strong, and he eventually ends up killing her even though she was just trying to protect him.

I prefer the stage show, but the movie is really good, too. you should really see it sometime :)

  • urm. she didn't hit the high note. URM FAIL.

  • Melinda Doolittle tops everyone at this song...

  • That's exactly it. I wasn't sure exactly how to say it, but you phrased it perfectly.

I didn't want to label it Battered Woman Syndrome, as many people believe that such a thing doesn't exist, but that's basically what it's about.

  • I haven't seen Oliver and won't pretend I have, but couldn't staying with someone you love even though they abuse you relate?

  • I have always hated this song and after this i still do.
