If you don't like it don't use facebook. Simple. The aren't doing anything against the law so you cannot stop them. You can only remove yourself from the equation. The external info they may collect can be found by any intelligence agency anyway so don't worry. Either stay off the site or don't bitch. This is about choice.

The dumb thing, and the mistaken thing about anyone, governments included, collecting data on a person is that no human being remains a "static entity". People change. Everyday many of things we say and do render the expression and endeavors of the previous day obsolete. FB, and indeed any gov't doing this nonsense is just spinning their wheels. I liked Vonnegut when I was 20, and have it listed. Haven't touched that stuff in 35 years. Dead data. I'm not threatened overall.

If you search data mining you get a google video about google datamining. Like it's a good thing. It's almost an hour long so I didn't watch it, but really just blatantly saying we're data mining people? Google+ is going to be the ultimate data mining, esp when they force you to connect your google+, youtube, and google account. They already mapped your neighborhood, your earth, your privacy.
