LOVE IT!!! Andie and Pacey are my fav couple on DC and one of my fav tv couples EVER!!! I agree Peachy, Andie brought out the BEST in Pacey and Joey brought out the WORST!! I HATE Joey and Pacey!!! Andie and Pacey are soulmates!!!!

@TL23455 I thought 96% is a bit high but it's true. When I did the research I found 126 handles, assumed each was independent, who made their feelings clear. Of the 126, 121 were pro P/J; 5 P/A- that's 96%. That 96% drove the story line. Even if P/A were KW's end game I can't see how a WB exec airs a P/A finale having that ratio in hand, who gives up millions in a syndication price tag & who knows how much in royalties. I love P/A & this video but I can't see how they ever had a chance.

@superwhit1331 KW would have broken Andie and Pacey up, but he would not have done it the way it was done. He did not like the way the character and the actress were treated. They were both favorites of his.He wanted Andie back at the end so he could put her with Pacey as he always envisioned. but Meredith could not give him 2 weeks, so that is how you wound up with J/P. Meredith gives him 2 weeks you have a different ending

@superwhit1331 I think 96 percent is a bit high. P/A were popular after season two. Most of the Andie hate comes from season 3 on when the writers did a hatchet job on her. The writers changed the triangle from Jen/Dawson/Joey to Pacey/Joey?Dawson. To make it believible they had to destroy Andie. A lot of the more vocal fans of the show were young teen girls and when they had Andie cheat on their hero Pacey; the hate started KW always had Andie as end game for Pacey.

@TL23455 My bad- I thought it was your opinion Josh & Katie blackmailed the PTB into perusing the P/J storyline b/c they dated. We agree @ Meredith- from different perspectives. You said they let her go b/c Andie was "in the way". Fans are so pro P/J (95%) ANYONE would've been "in the way". It never mattered if KW was as pro P/A as we are- you can't alienate 95% of fans & survive. How do you peruse a P/A storyline, bring Meredith back, pay her, lose both fans & cash flow? You don't.

@superwhit1331 What I wrote had no bearing on the acting ability of Holmes and Jackson I said the fans wanted Pacey and Joey together. Even KW said they would date sometime during the show. They let Meredith go because her character would be in the way where the new set of writers wanted the show to go. They got rid of Meredith and then paid Busy Phillips so saving money does not make sense. BUT according to KW Pacey and Andie were end game He would have kept Andie on the show.

Is it your opinion the PTB let Meredith go & wrote the J/P storyline based on the assumption fans wanted to see a J/P storyline since Katie & Josh dated? I couldn't disagree more. It denigrates Josh & Katie's ability to act. They let Meredith go b/c fans rejected Andie in favor of a character and/or dream they could better believe in. So, why pay Meredith & peruse a storyline your audience rejects? I loved P/A; problem is for every person like me there are 95 who feel differently.

True. My opinion the reason they let Meredith Monroe gone during the 4th season was that Pacey broke up with Joey and there was Andie. Anyone with half a brain knew that Pacey and Andie belonged together.....Shows like this are driven by the fangirls and since Josh and Katie had dated in real life they wanted to see it on the screen, If KW had Meredith for the two weeks he wanted; you would have had a different ending

AGREED!! I always heard KW was pro P/A but I never heard him say so. Knowing that Meredith was only available for a day or so is a consolation with me too. What drives me up the wall are the ignorant fans defending J/P. They don't understand Dawson was the lead in name only- it was Pacey's show. Pacey was the character that brought in the fans- Pacey brought in the CASH. Stupin, although he used ridiculous story-lines, knew he had to squash P/A if the show was going to survive past S3.
