You're right fatandy, the turbines are great if you're hauling a seriously heavy load short distances because you get your money's worth, but for longer trips, the fuel cost alone compromises this aircraft's wonderful capability. I think this is a great airframe, but that fuel cost is damning! This airframe and power plant would've sold like hotcakes in the 80's!

does anyone know if this is a pressurized cabin? It doesnt look like it, i cant tell if there are transparent panels on the side. If not, a turbine is not the best bet. Sure theyre more reliable, but think about extra initial investment and cost of fuel...even in economy cruise its burning 38 gal/h. Pretty close to $200/h in fuel cost.
