Final score and break down of score can be found below:

They are on a 0-10 scale with 10 being the best score possible:

Story Accuracy to the Movie 4.5 out of 10
(They don't tell you anything about the story at any point. But if you have seen the movie you should be able to guess at where all these moments are in the film. But it is sketchy at best at how well this relates otherwise. It has all the characters and opening and closing moments but no cutscenes or any other reference that would tell us of the story. It's all guessed upon.)

Music Soundtrack Accuracy to the Movie's 1.5 out of 10
(Generic Music at it's worst here. There are only a few songs found in the whole game and none of them really captures the flavor of Elman's soundtrack properly. Other games based on this film have the score done properly. This one showcasing the portable color handheld should have as well. Music is very basic really. )

Game Difficulty 0.5 out of 10
(One life to get through the whole entire game. Start over each time you do lose a life. And the play controls and enemy types don't help things in the slightest to make for a more user friendly experience. This is by far one of the hardest hand held games out there due to these factors. You can work through the whole game and die at the last level only to have to start all over again with nothing to show for it. Very difficult.)

Overall Fun 2.5 out of 10
(The game is fun maybe the first few times you play it, until you realize how hopeless and difficult the entire situation is after dying so many times. Some may like the challenge the game gives and it in the most basic of ways does capture the flavor of the film. But it's not a game I would say is an enjoyable experience or one that you will want to go to often if you loved this film.)

Final Score: 2.50

  • I never played this one. Glad I didn't. Never even had a Lynx growing up. Don't think I was missing out on too much by the looks of it. Great review as always. Keep em coming!

  • I love the SNES verison better.

  • You would think Warner Bros. owning both Atari and the rights to this movie, you'd think they would AT LEAST be able to get the music rights from the film.

  • Never heard of the Lynx version of "Batman Returns". It was a bad game. They did the same thing with "Dick Tracy" for the NES which is garbage and way too hard. "Dick Tracy" on the NES starts with only one life, takes a couple of damages and you're dead and it's game over. Both "Batman Returns" for the Lynx and "Dick Tracy" for the NES are both hard.

  • everyone knows the snes version is the best

  • I just came up with an idea for a request last night - Cars on the PS2, Wii, Xbox 360 and PS3. When I was a wee lad I used to love Cars.

  • @Movies2GamesReviews - Are you planning on reviewing the NES version of this? I really think that version kicks ass.

  • If i had a lynx and this game back in the day i think i would've smashed it with a hammer.

  • are you gonna do the Genesis version? That's another stiff and frustrating platformer/beat em up.

  • jesus dude it's been forever since a new video!

  • Awesome vid man. Glad to see ur are still making these. :)
