Highlights: Penguins @ Hurricanes: Game 4 2009 Playoffs

SWEEP CITY!!!

First off, great season for the Canes. They were out of the running much like the Pens were back with 20 games left in the season or so, but then tore up the Eastern Conference in the same way. I also don't think may people gave them a chance against higher seeded New Jersey or Boston. They played well and to see them lose this way has to be hard.

And I have to say I feel a bit bad for Cam Ward. He's a great goalie, and deserved better than what he got in this series. That 2nd goal he gave up tonight was just the way it has seemed to go with him in this series. Not a lot of help from his D.

I have to be honest, back in February, I never could have imagined the Pens would be here. I never gave up hope for a playoff spot, but to make it back to the Cup finals? I just didn't see it happening. This team has been through so much already, there is no doubt they will be prepared for this upcoming series.

I did not show that other trophy being awarded here even though I had the video space. We all know that's not the one you want to win. :) I can't believe Sid picked it up...not sure what to think about that exactly.

even the broadcaster aksed live "how many close calls can you have" when gill covered the puck, not to mention all the bullshit penaltys, non suspension for malkin and 6 on 5 with fleiry on goal

i agree they were bad cals against the penguins in games 1 and 2, however they are not comparable to what happened in games 3 and 4.

my problem is that bettman wanted the penguins to win this series and helped them because he thought that my be good for the leage and his golden boy

I call this a fabricated championship, because I bet my ass that didn't that bad calls unintentional and without them we would have a diffrent winner

Ok, if you really believe that then tell me, why didn't Bettman do the same thing in 2008 when he had the chance? Couldn't he have just given the Pens a ton of powerplays there as well and had them win in 2008?

Love how Sid could have easily padded his goal total on the empty net but gave it up to Adams. Great teammate.

You may want to look at the stats from that series and realize that the Wings had twice as many powerplays as the Pens. =\ I mean I can understand if you're mad about the the missed too-many men from game 3, but overall you should really do your research before getting too angry. Wings got 2 powerplays at the end of both games 6 and 7 for the tie up. Honestly, it's their own fault if they can't capitalize on that. I didn't see Gary Bettman making a last second diving save.

The Wings had 12 more power plays in that series than the Pens. Scuderi also never covered the puck, you can see that clearly on the replay. You DO however have a point about Malkin's non suspension and the bullshit no call for too many men in game 3. But if you're gonna gripe, at least get ALL your facts straight. :)
