六合拳 is the second routine taught within the framework of the taiwanese northern shaolin longfist association in taipei . please note first that i am not a master, nor a teacher, just a student (which means it is far from being perfect). secondly, the purpose is to compare (slow-medium speed) and share with other schools performing longfist forms, not for learning new movements through internet.
liuhe quan 六合拳 means the six harmonies boxing. It was brought in Taiwan by Jiang Chang-Gen. He learned it in Mainland China when he was in the military. This form, unlike the others, is specific to his teaching, therefore to my association. In theory, the six harmonies are:
Shou Yu Zu He - Hands (Shou) harmonize with feet (Zu)
Jian Yu Kua He - Shoulders (Jian) harmonize with hips (Kua)
Zhou Yu Xi He - Elbows (Zhou) harmonize with knees (Xi)
Xin Yu Yi He - Heart (Xin) harmonizes with intent (Yi)
Yi Yu Qi He - Intent (Yi) harmonizes with vital energy (Qi)
Qi Yu Jin He - Vital energy (Qi) harmonizes with internal force (Jin).
六合 refers also to the six directions (north, south, east, west, up, down).
Names of the movements (sorry, no english)

  • Excellent skills on all your clips.

  • @Tunks1 thanks a lot, i still need to improve them

  • From what i've seen i can't picture you doing any of the sets badly, you take a lot of pride in what you do. I notice after i posted that i had mis-spell shizi tang sorry.

I understand about not showing the complete sets.

The main reason i don't do the tornado kick, is about 3 years ago i fratured my hip, so its more a mental thing of reinjurying my hip. thanks for the info and hope you had a marry christmas and happy new year.

  • my teacher uses to say that after he has taught you a form (which requires at least one or two decades of hard training), it becomes yours. In other words, you can adapt it so that it suits best your needs, mind and body. That is why for instance that the teachers of the taiwanese association, who had the same master, perform differently some movements (not too many though). so skip this jumping kick, it is not a problem. what is most important is to relax , enjoy kung-fu and avoid injuries

  • Awesome, nice to see the white guys representing in kung fu!

  • Excellent skills

  • yes, i learned shizi tang quan but i didn't put it because i felt i didn't do it well. maybe i will put that video until i record it once again when i come back to taiwan.

Yes, wulu maifu is not complete, as many of the videos they put afterwards because they noticed that some people learned the forms through youtube without understanding at all the movements.

lastly, i have seen people practising our style in their seventies, but in a soft way. just don't do tornado kick .happy new year

  • Yes, i agree with your teacher. Erlu Maifu is a great set, i also like Yilu Maifu Unfortunately i'm 54 years old now and its a little bit harder doing the tornado kick LOL.. I studied back in the early 90's my teacher was Jeff Bolt, we didn't have the Wulu Maifu ether. I seem it on stevenjr518; that why i was asking, however it didn't look like it was the complete set i could be wrong. Did you learn Shizu Tang just curious? Thank you for the info.

  • Thank you for the info. I was just curious, your (Grand Master) did a great job putting it together I can see how it would be a good training set, 6 direction and to train balance. Once again thanks for the info, nice set.

  • i am sorry, i haven't learned Wulu mai fu. in fact, i have never seen my teacher, You Qin Hong, one of the main Qiang Chang Gen's students, teach it or even do it. There are over a dozen of teachers in Qiang's association (the Taiwanese north shaolin long fist), and i know that a couple of them teach it (have a look at stevenjr518). However, for my teacher erlu mai fu is the most important one in maifu style, especially from the point of view of its martial applications.
