The Opus 10 sonatas are usually described as angular or experimental, as Beethoven began moving further and further away from his earlier models. The Third sonata of this set is the longest, and spans approximately 24 minutes. It is the only one of the Opus 10 sonatas that has 4 movements.

  • Even at this early stage in his creative life all the Beethoven hallmarks are there: the endless invention, the expression, the strength and power.

  • These pieces make so much more sense when hearing a true virtuoso play them; I find it hard on my own to pick them apart.

  • Starting to learn this. Wow, it is presto.

  • @jkbidwell you seem to have a great dad. unlike mine (and beethovens, apparently), who was a drunk. nevertheless, one of the most beautiful piano pieces ever.

  • God I love this. My Dad played this on his Steinway- I'd be lying in bed trying to get to sleep- but this was sinking in.

  • @ivan1793

lol I guess you haven't hear his Appasionata yet

  • YOU BELIEVE WRONG INTERLOPER

  • I believe it's Beethoven's best.
