The memory of the 1994 Rwanda genocide is still a vivid memory in the minds of the people of Rwanda, especially the massive involvement of the young people in the country. But even as the country is commemorating 16 years since approximately one million people were killed, it is making a remarkable recovery. The government of Rwanda has launched various initiatives to allow young people to take part in the reconstruction of the country and the reconciliation process between communities. Sally Mbilu reports on a nation looking to rebuild from painful memories.
